Training Philosophy

The foundation of King Performance Horses' approach is rooted in safety, trust, and respect for the horse-rider partnership. Head trainer Joline King-Pebley emphasizes the importance of matching each rider with the right horse and creating individualized programs designed to build confidence and develop a competitive edge. This balanced method allows riders to progress from mastering the basics to achieving peak performance on a local, national, or even international stage.

What truly sets KPH apart is its commitment to teaching through doing. Riders are actively involved in every aspect of their journey, from learning the fundamentals of horsemanship, grooming, and care to addressing specific challenges like fixing a problematic spin or refining a gait transition. Unlike many programs where trainers or assistants handle much of the work, KPH prioritizes involving the rider every step of the way. By ensuring clients understand why an issue arises and how to fix it, KPH empowers them to become more independent and capable horsemen and women.

With a deep legacy in Western performance disciplines, King Performance Horses offers not just a path to success but a philosophy that values the journey, ensuring every rider becomes a more knowledgeable and confident partner to their horse.

Head trainer Joline King-Pebley brings a wealth of experience to KPH. An accomplished horsewoman, Joline has earned numerous accolades, including championships in Reining and Ranch Riding. Her dedication extends to her clients, many of whom have achieved significant success in competitive arenas at a local, regional, and national level. Joline's personalized, goal-oriented approach ensures each rider and horse receives the tailored guidance they need to excel.

Joline King-Pebley brings not only decades of experience but also a deep connection to the equestrian community. She has previously held judging cards with organizations including NRHA (National Reining Horse Association), USEF (United States Equestrian Federation), IBHA (International Buckskin Horse Association), POA (Pony of the Americas), and the National Stock Horse Association. Her extensive judging experience underscores her expertise and dedication to the sport.

Today, Joline remains an active member of the NRHA, AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association), and PCHA (Pacific Coast Horse Shows Association) and continues to contribute to the equestrian world by providing clinics for ranch riding and reining riders. Her commitment to fostering a strong equestrian community and sharing her knowledge exemplifies her leadership within the industry.
